J.C. Bose University Team “Caffein Overflow” clinches First Prize at Smart India Hackathon 2025
FARIDABAD NEWS 10 DEC 2025 : GAUTAM : Team “Caffein Overflow” from J.C. Bose University of Science and Technology, YMCA, Faridabad has scripted history by securing the First Prize in the Software Edition of the Smart India Hackathon (SIH) 2025 Grand Finale, hosted at IIT Dhanbad. This is the first time a team from the University has won the top honour in this nationally acclaimed innovation challenge organised by the Ministry of Education, Government of India. The winning team has been awarded a cash prize of Rs. 1.5 lakh.
The team, comprising Mr. Sanjeevan Kumar (Team Leader), Ms. Ishaanvi Reet, Ms. Srishti Rathi, Ms. Aarzoo, Mr. Tushar Bhadana, and Mr. Pramod Kumar, developed an innovative solution for the “Smart Classroom and Timetable Scheduler” problem statement under the Smart Education theme. Their exceptional performance stood out among top teams from across the country.
Prof. Rajive Kumar, Vice-Chancellor of the University, lauded the achievement, stating: "This remarkable success of team 'Caffein Overflow' in securing the First Prize at the SIH 2025 Grand Finale is a evidence to the innovative spirit and hard work of our students and faculty. It marks a proud chapter in the University's journey towards excellence in innovation and contributes significantly to nation-building. Prof. Kumar congratulated the winning team, mentors, and the entire IIC for this historic accomplishment."
Earlier, two teams from the University — “Caffein Overflow” and “Aura Farmers” — were shortlisted for the SIH 2025 Grand Finale after clearing the rigorous national-level idea screening. The selected teams were reviewed by the Vice-Chancellor for their solutions and motivated them ahead of the finale held on 8th-9th December 2025 at nodal centres in Dhanbad (Jharkhand) and Ahmedabad (Gujarat).
The teams were guided by Dr. Rashmi Agarwal, President – Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC), and Dr. Payal Gulati, SIH Single Point of Contact (SPOC). The internal selections were organised by IIC 8.0, with 35 teams initially participating in the national challenge.
