FARIDABAD NEWS 11 JULY 2025 : GAUTAM ; The Haryana Vidhan Sabha Subject Committee on Education, Technical Education, Vocational Education, Medical Education, and Health Services conducted a visit to J.C. Bose University of Science and Technology, YMCA, Faridabad, today. The committee held a productive meeting with university officials to review the University’s progress and initiatives.
The meeting, chaired by MLA Sh. Ram Kumar Kashyap, took place at the Mini Secretariat, Faridabad. It was attended by key dignitaries, including Prof. Sushil Kumar Tomar, Vice-Chancellor of J.C. Bose University; Shri Prabhjot Singh, Director General, Haryana Technical Education; Shri Vikram Singh, Deputy Commissioner, Faridabad; Dr. Ajay Ranga, Registrar of the University; Shri Kanwar Singh, Under Secretary, Haryana Vidhan Sabha; and other university officials. Eight members of the 11-member committee were present, including MLAs Shri Randhir Panihar, Dr. Krishan Kumar, Shri Hariender Singh, Shri Balram Dangi, Shri Devender Hans, Shri Shisupal Singh, and Shri Kuldeep Vats, along with former Minister Smt. Seema Trikha.
The committee reviewed the University’s Annual Report 2023-24, focusing on student placements, staff recruitment, roster system implementation, reservation policies, and facilities for students and staff. Discussions also covered initiatives to enhance the quality of education. The committee expressed concerns over delays in the Second Campus Project on 18 acres of land allotted by the State Government along Faridabad-Gurugram Road. The university informed the committee that environmental clearance is required due to the land’s proximity to the Aravali Hills, and efforts are underway to complete the formalities. The committee emphasized the importance of the second campus for the university’s growth and urged the district administration to expedite support.
Concerns were also raised about unfilled teaching positions and low result outcomes in certain courses. The university assured the committee that steps are being taken to prioritize recruitment, with temporary arrangements like contractual and guest faculty in place to ensure uninterrupted teaching. Recruitment delays were attributed to the previous year’s Election Code of Conduct and State Government directives. The Vice-Chancellor committed to initiating recruitment promptly. On the issue of low results, the university acknowledged a quality gap between itself and its affiliated colleges and outlined ongoing corrective measures.
The committee inspected the university’s state-of-the-art facilities, including labs and the Central Instrumentation Laboratory, and praised the advanced infrastructure provided to researchers. The university highlighted its “Gram Panchayat Scholarship Scheme” under the Community College of Skill Development (CCSD), which offers a 100% tuition fee waiver for up to five Economically Weaker Section (EWS) students per course in B.Voc, Diploma, and PG Diploma programs, recommended by Gram Panchayat Sarpanches. Additionally, a one-year B.Voc program under the Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) Scheme and skill-based education for approximately 750 youth annually were noted.
The committee also commended the university’s green initiative, mandating students to plant and maintain at least five trees during their academic program, with a dedicated portal feature to track compliance. This effort to promote environmental consciousness was well-received, and the committee requested a detailed report on the scheme.
The committee set a three-month timeline for the university to address vacant teaching posts and accelerate the Second Campus Project. A follow-up review meeting will be held to assess progress on the discussed points.
