FARIDABAD NEWS 22 SEP 2026 : GAUTAM : J.C. Bose University of Science and Technology, YMCA, Faridabad, organized a heartfelt farewell ceremony to honour the tenure of its outgoing Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Rajive Kumar. The event was jointly organized by the teaching, administrative, and workshop staff associations of the university.
Prof. Rajive Kumar was accompanied by his wife, Dr. Sangeeta Kansal. The event, jointly organized by the teaching, administrative, and workshop staff associations, was presided over by the newly appointed Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Sanjay Kaushik, and attended by Deans, Chairpersons, administrative staff, and faculty members from both J.C. Bose University and Gurugram University. Prof. Sanjay Kaushik will assume charge as Vice Chancellor of the University on September 23, 2026.
Prof. Kumar, who had been serving as Vice-Chancellor since September 11, 2025, recently tendered his resignation due to personal reasons. Following a notification issued by Haryana Lok Bhavan, Chandigarh, the Haryana Government has assigned the additional charge of Vice-Chancellor to Prof. Sanjay Kaushik, Vice-Chancellor of Gurugram University, until the selection process for a regular Vice-Chancellor is completed. Prof. Kaushik presided over the ceremony.
Addressing the gathering, Registrar Prof. Ajay Ranga expressed profound gratitude to Prof. Kumar for his visionary leadership and acknowledged his significant contributions toward promoting the Research and Innovation ecosystem in the University, while also sharing his close professional association with him.
During the program, several key achievements of Prof. Kumar's tenure were acknowledged, including the establishment of Centres of Excellence on EV Technology, Data Centre on AI and ML, and UAV and Anti-Drone Technology. His tenure was also marked by major examination reforms through the introduction of a Digital Evaluation System, the setup of a Central Research Facility, recognition of NCVET as an Awarding Body, receipt of the NIDHI i-TBI grant, promotion of Alumni Connect, and overall campus infrastructure development.
The event featured addresses by Dr. Sanjay Kumar (President, Faculty Association), Sh. Rajdeep (President, Non-Teaching Association), Prof. Munish Vashishath (Dean, Institutions), Prof. Pawan Singh (OSD to VC), Prof. Sanjeev Goyal, Sh. Ajay Taneja (Superintending Engineer), and Dr. Meha Sharma (Deputy Registrar), who all shared their personal and professional experiences of working with Prof. Rajive Kumar. To commemorate his leadership, a special documentary showcasing the key achievements and journey of Prof. Rajive Kumar was also displayed on the occasion.
In his farewell address, Prof. Rajive Kumar expressed deep gratitude to the entire university fraternity for their unwavering support and dedication throughout his tenure. He emphasized that the collective efforts of the faculty and staff are pivotal in driving innovation and elevating the institution's academic standard.
