FARIDABAD NEWS 11 DEC 2025 : GAUTAM :  The Department of Chemistry at J.C. Bose University of Science and Technology, YMCA, organised a one-day workshop titled “Youth & Scientific Futures: Towards a Samriddh Bharat”, aimed at nurturing young innovators and strengthening India’s scientific spirit. Sponsored by the Anusandhan National Research Foundation (ANRF), the event brought together students, faculty members, and leading experts to explore the role of youth in driving a knowledge-driven future.
School students from Skill Vishwakarma University Senior Secondary School and Swami Vivekanand Senior Secondary School, Palwal, actively participated in the workshop, gaining valuable exposure to scientific thinking and innovation.
The sessions opened with Prof. Munish Vashishath, Dean of Institutions, who emphasised the importance of keen observation in scientific progress. He illustrated this with the classic example of Archimedes’ principle, showing how simple observations can lead to great discoveries. He also urged students to recognise their responsibility as youth and strive to become disciplined, mindful, and socially responsible learners.
Prof. Pawan Singh, Chairperson, CMT, addressed the students on Youth and Viksit Bharat 2047, highlighting the pivotal role young minds will play in shaping India’s scientific and economic future. He stressed on the concept of youth towards determination, courage, make-in-india and dream high towards nation building.    
Prof. Anuradha Sharma, Dean of the Faculty of Sciences, spoke on the role of science in society, emphasising that scientific endeavours must remain aligned with societal needs and national development. We should collectively work with high energy, collaboration, commitment and focus to uplift our contribution in nation building. 
Prof. Maneesha Garg, Director, Research & Central Instrumentation Lab, shared powerful insights on the importance of willingness and curiosity while performing experiments. She encouraged students to explore solutions even with limited resources and highlighted the inspiring scientific journey of C.V. Raman, underscoring perseverance and passion as keys to discovery.
Participants also engaged in a university/lab visit led by Dr. Anurag Prakash Sunda, Principal Investigator of an ANRF-CRG project and Deputy Director of the Central Instrumentation Lab, which offered a hands-on understanding of advanced research facilities and attracted students with live demonstrations.
Prof. Rajive Kumar, Vice-Chancellor, applauded the initiative, emphasizing the need to cultivate scientific inquiry among students from a young age. Prof. Dr. Ajay Ranga, Registrar, highlighted that such platforms play a pivotal role in connecting student potential with national developmental goals. Dr. Ravi Kumar, Chairperson –  Chemistry Department, mentioned that the department is committed to fostering and inculcating a scientific temper among the young minds and thanked all the speakers, faculty, school teachers and students for their active participation. Mr. Vishal Kumar, Assistant Registrar, and school teachers Neha, Ajit, Kirti, and Yogesh were also present in the event.
