FARIDABAD NEWS 05 JAN 2026 : GAUTAM : The 30th Batch of the Mandatory Foundation Course was inaugurated on New Year’s Eve at the National Power Training Institute (NPTI), Sector-33, Faridabad, under the Ministry of Power, Government of India. The programme participation from over 100 newly recruited employees of Power Finance Corporation (PFC), Grid-India, and NHPC, all Central Public Sector Undertakings (CPSUs) under the Ministry of Power.

The Chief Guest for the inauguration ceremony was Shri Hemant Jain, Member of Grid operation and Distribution of Central Electricity Authority (CEA) & Director General, NPTI. The event was further graced by Dr. S. Selvam, Principal Director (MBA), Dr. Indu Maheshwari, Principal Director (Training), and Dr. Vatsala Sharma, Director (Training), also adorned the stage and encouraged the participants at the beginning of their professional journey. The program was coordinated by Dr. Mahendra Singh, Rahul Pandey, and Anurag Rai.

The three-week Foundation Course, mandated by the Ministry of Power and organized by NPTI, is designed to provide a comprehensive understanding of the Indian power sector while fostering camaraderie, teamwork, and inter-organizational bonding among participants from various CPSUs. The course plays a crucial role in orienting young professionals toward the technical, managerial, and policy dimensions of the power sector, while instilling a strong sense of public service and shared responsibility.

Over the years, the Foundation Course at NPTI has been enriched by the presence of distinguished expert faculty and a vibrant blend of academic, cultural, and co-curricular activities. Continuing this legacy, the 30th batch features a well-designed series of specialized expert lectures, cultural programs, sports activities, and experiential learning opportunities aimed at holistic personality development.

Addressing the participants, Director General Shri Hemant Jain emphasized the importance of integrity, continuous learning, and a people-centric approach in strengthening India’s power sector. Recalling his own training days, he shared that his first professional training was also conducted at NPTI, and expressed pride in being part of an institution that has been serving the power sector for over six decades. He encouraged the young officers to make the best use of this unique platform for learning, interaction, and personal growth.

With a balanced blend of knowledge sharing, cultural enrichment, physical fitness, and practical exposure, NPTI once again looks forward to delivering a successful and impactful Foundation Course, shaping future leaders of the power sector and contributing meaningfully to nation-building.
