Hemant Jain Assumes Additional Charge as 24th Director General of NPTI
FARIDABAD NEWS 03 NOV 2025 : GAUTAM ; Mr. Hemant Jain has assumed additional charge as the 24th Director General of the National Power Training Institute (NPTI), an autonomous body under the Ministry of Power, Government of India, located in Sector 33, Faridabad.
The Ministry of Power has entrusted Mr. Jain, who is currently serving as Member (Grid Operation and Distribution) at the Central Electricity Authority (CEA), New Delhi, with the additional charge of Director General, NPTI. He succeeds Dr. Tripta Thakur, who held this position since September 1, 2021.
Upon assuming charge, Mr. Jain was warmly welcomed by Dr. S. Selvam, Principal Director, along with all Directors, Deputy Directors, and Associate Directors of NPTI, who presented him with a plant as a gesture of goodwill.
With over 33 years of extensive experience in various facets of the power sector, Mr. Hemant Jain currently leads the Grid Operation and Distribution Wing of CEA, which encompasses five divisions and five Regional Power Committees (RPCs).
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Jain said, The National Power Training Institute (NPTI) is a premier institution dedicated to human resource development in the power sector. We will continue to strengthen the institute’s role and enhance training and capacity-building initiatives to address future technological challenges.
