J.C. Bose University’s Youth Red Cross Club Organizes First Aid and CPR Training Camp
FARIDABAD NEWS 29 SEPT 2025 : GAUTAM : The Youth Red Cross (YRC) Club of J.C. Bose University of Science and Technology, YMCA, Faridabad, successfully conducted a First Aid and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Training and Awareness Camp today as part of its three-day Sewa Pakhwada Campaign, commemorating World Health Day. The initiative aimed to equip students and staff with critical life-saving skills to handle emergencies effectively.
The camp was led by Mr. M.C. Dhiman, a Red Cross Trainer, alongside the District Red Cross team. Participants received hands-on training in CPR, covering essential techniques such as the AVPU method for assessing responsiveness, checking responsiveness within 10 seconds, positioning unconscious individuals in the recovery position, and administering CPR at a rate of 100–120 compressions per minute with rescue breaths. The session also included training on pulse checking, safe rescue breath techniques, and safe blood donation practices, emphasizing the importance of consent, hygiene, and cleanliness in first aid procedures.
Mr. Dhiman shared valuable insights from his experience in natural disaster relief, underscoring the critical role of first aid knowledge in real-world scenarios. The camp saw enthusiastic participation, with 25 YRC volunteers and over 150 attendees receiving certifications for their successful completion of the training.
Vice-Chancellor Prof. Rajive Kumar lauded the YRC Club for its commendable efforts in organizing the camp and promoting essential life-saving skills and awareness among the University Community. The event was meticulously coordinated under the guidance of Prof. Pradeep Dimri, Dean of Student Welfare, with dedicated support from Dr. Navish Kataria, YRC Program Coordinator, Dr. Rahul Arya, YRC Counsellor, and Ms. Ashima Sharma, YRC Counsellor.
By blending heart health awareness with practical training, the camp empowered participants to respond confidently in emergencies, fostering a spirit of community service and preparedness.
