FARIDABAD NEWS 5 AUG 2022 :  To counter the menace of anaemia and taking concrete steps towards making the University anaemia free, JC Bose University of Science and Technology, YMCA, Faridabad, in collaboration with Bharat Vikas Parishad Faridabad, today launched a campaign under Anaemia Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan.
A team of specialized doctor and paramedical staff from Dr. Suraj Prakash Arogya Kendra with the help of University Health Centre today visited the University and conducted a health check-up of University girls. The health check-up camp was coordinated by the office of Dean Student Welfare.
Registrar Dr. S.K. Garg took stock of the camp and motivated the girl students to get their health check-up done. He also asked the concerned officers to generate mass awareness about the causes of anaemia and make dedicated efforts to yield fruitful results of the campaign. Deputy Dean Student Welfare Dr. Anuradha Pillai and Medical Officer Dr. Ankur Sharma were also present on this occasion. The Vice-Chancellor Prof. S.K. Tomar has appriciated the initiative taken by the University Health Centre in association with Bharat Vikas Parishad Faridabad.
The official of Bharat Vikas Parishad Faridabad Sh. Raj Kumar Aggarwal apprised that Anaemia Mukt Bharat is one such nutrition awareness programme to bring about behaviour change in people towards healthy living. The objective of the campaign is to reduce anaemia prevalence among children, especially adolescent girls by Test, Treat and Talk mechanism. During the campaign, the testing of girl students will be done with the help of a digital haemoglobinometer. The girls found with iron deficiency will be provided counseling to adopt a healthy lifestyle to increase iron levels in the body and on foods rich in iron, protein and vitamin C.
The officials of Bharat Vikas Parishad Faridabad Sh. Rakesh Gupta, Sh. Dinesh Garg, Sh. Dinesh Aggarwal, Sh. BM Aggarwal, Ms. Tamanna Aggarwal, Ms. Garima Aggarwal and Poonam Garg were also present on this occasion.
